"Nations, like stars, are entitled to eclipse. All is well, provided the light returns and the eclipse does not become endless night. Dawn and resurrection are synonymous. The reappearance of the light is the same as the survival of the soul."
The ephemeris is at it again!
August 21st sees the amazing phenomena of a total solar eclipse. This is even more significant as it is the first time in a century that the USA will see a coast to coast eclipse, the first of its kind since 1918. Observers will see a 70 mile wide shadow from Oregon to Carolina. Two minutes of darkness shadowing 14 states.
A total eclipse of the sun is when the moon comes between sun and earth and casts the darkest part of its shadow (the Umbra) on earth. The darkest point is like night.
I don’t know fully what the significance could be especially for the States. There has been much speculation amongst astrologers as to the meaning of such a phenomena, bearing in mind that President Trump has got some crazy line-ups in his chart this month and the States is definitely playing bad boy at the moment with regards to climate control and so on. So what can we surmise from all of this?
I drew the Fool and the Ace of Wands as an indication of what lies at the heart of all this amazingness that will unfold on the 21st. Let's start with the Ace of Wands...
We see here the potential for achieving goals, original and inspired concepts that bring about new growth, upheaval bringing forth new energy, a clearing out that could be tempestuous but will make sure that unfinished business will be completed. Artistic inspiration and creativity that will draw attention to responsibility towards others will be the order of the day.
Sexual energy or high libido is aspected along with a sense of presence. There is also a sense of lack of courage to initiate new schemes or possibilities and an unwillingness to let go of old attitudes. Confidence without skill and loss of attention, yet transformations are looming near which could bring change and transmutation.
How intriguing, perhaps art and literature will not be censored or criticised, particularly as liberalism is seemingly so despised; instead it will be a truthful depiction and narrative of the time we live in.
The Fool takes us one step further.
Unexpected confrontations with deep and non-rational issues or events. We see the Fool reaching down into primordial desires even when heavily opposed. However, there is power to overcome obstacles, especially if the voice of intuition is followed. Decisions and choices are not always about reason or logic. The message is pay attention and proceed with caution.
The contradictions and paradoxes of living in the ordinary world will be revealed, the Fool exposes hypocrisy, vanity and an over inflated attitude!! Foolishness could lead to success. Beware of uncalculated risks that could hurt others and not selling out to poor ideas and expecting to be protected by innocence. All I will say is watch this space! America, do what is right!!
Not only do we have this total solar eclipse but we also have New Moon in Virgo! This brings renewal and spiritual energy.
Hey! It is also Musharram, the beginning of the Islamic new year, Rosh Hashannah, the Jewish new year and Navaratini, a Hindu nine day celebration of the Divine mother.
What a busy old planet…
So, what does it mean for us mere mortals scattered elsewhere across the globe?
It is a time for honouring new beginnings, the moment to start again, take a fresh look at life in a new way.
Areas of interest at this time are employment, intellectual matters, health and dietary concerns and most definitely a time for compassion for soul and self.
We must absolutely decide what is best for us.
A SPREAD FOR YOU TO TRY.
How can I help myself practically?
What can I expect to manifest at this time?
Can I expect a breakthrough?
What needs to be put in order?
What is it that I have started but needs finishing?
What makes me extraordinary?
What does my happiness look like?
Have you ever thought of keeping an Astro/Tarot journal?
Why not work a spread at significant times of the moon or personal planetary movements, keep them as a document, a testament to the time you live in. Journals are wonderful to look through long after the moment passed and can be very revealing of you, your life and what was happening around you at the time.
