Beaver Moon, Make Good the Dam!
“For what it’s worth: it’s never too late or, in my case, too early to be whoever you want to be. There’s no time limit, stop whenever you want. You can change or stay the same, there are no rules to this thing. We can make the best or the worst of it. I hope you make the best of it. And I hope you see things that startle you. I hope you feel things you never felt before. I hope you meet people with a different point of view. I hope you live a life you’re proud of. If you find that you’re not, I hope you have the courage to start all over again.”
― Eric Roth, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button Screenplay
I was looking at the sky last night.
It was beautiful. It was like a picture from a book that I read as a child. A wind swept night, trees stark against the black night, a silvery moon shone from behind bright, scudding clouds. It was quite magical.
I think that this must be the build up towards the Beaver Moon on November 30th. This Full Moon has been traditionally called the Beaver Moon because it was the time to set traps before the waters froze over. This Moon was also called the Full Frost Moon.
According to Native American folklore, the Beaver Moon gets its name for one of a few different reasons which have to do with the dam-building, nocturnal rodents that have the oar-shaped tails. The Old Farmer's Almanac postulates that it is called the Beaver Moon because this month was just the right moment to set beaver traps before the winter freeze. But according to National Geographic, it could also be attributed to the "heavy activity of beavers building their winter dams."
I always pay attention to the Full Moon.
I have come to realise that it is not always the actual moment of its zenith that is important but the ripples in its wake that actually have the effect on our own being and doing. The Gemini Full Moon on Monday, November 30, 2020, is a lunar eclipse.
As if this year has not had enough problems now we get this incredible charge of the energy that will create much tension, anxiety, uncertainty and insecurity. But with flexibility, you can adapt to changing conditions and take advantage of opportunities to improve your life.
Let’s get prepared.
Moving through this time may require us letting go of things...again...life is perpetually letting go, refining, fine-tuning and this Moon is no exception.
Ultimately, we can’t undo the past; what has happened, has happened, we can’t alter that but we can change our attitude to it and we can certainly change what is to come.
Suddenly life is moving at an accelerated rate and be prepared to keep up with it during this Full Moon until the next Full Moon in December. Be flexible and not so rigid with your thoughts or actions. This Full Moon is about leaving behind the noose of old habits, patterns and broken dreams. This all fits in with all of us going through the process of leaving the clutches of the old Saturnian dynamics in favour of a multi-dimensional, faster paced life. Not only that but it is likely we are going to get smarter.
It is not so much that time will speed up but that our neural pathways will have been changed by the constant use of technology, faster communication and instant information. This all adds up to the fact that instead of thinking a few hundred thoughts per minute we are able to have thousands per minute which gives the impression of rapid time. Basically the human capacity is evolving. For some of us technology will be the frenemy (technology as a natural predator that enhances expansion in conscious awareness.) For the young that are coming into the world, we can expect some awesome wowzer skills. One can only hope that they use them wisely. They are the Magicians of tomorrow and their tools upon the table will be off the radar!
Anyway we digress.
This Full Moon in Gemini is a time for you to start building up your spiritual muscles to be strong throughout the rest of this year.
Now is the time we should be thinking about how we can fully express ourselves. Gemini Full Moon, ruled by Mercury, will bring inspiration to be eloquent and articulate.
Commerce and business also come under this influence, what needs to be adapted or reconstructed?
Relationships are always important; how do we relate to ourselves, each other, where can we show more compassion?
I sense that we must be wary of repressing emotions, instead let them merge into the conscious world. Own our personal reality. Adapting and adjustment is vital to human existence, without that ability we would have been in trouble a long time ago, now we have to draw on that ability and go with the river of life.
Beaver is making good her foundations for the future, she is not holding the river back but her foundation has become a part of it.
